We are currently looking for (2) Full-time Supervisors, Early Learning Child-Care (ELCC) Educators to join our team. The Supervisor, Early Learning Child-Care Educators plays a vital role in planning and implementing the Early Learning program with a strong commitment to Quiver Full Daycare mission of “Raising Mighty People”. Reporting to the Executive Director, Supervisors provide leadership, direction and active engagement for the programming of the children in our care. Leading a team of educators towards the corporate and strategic goals, this position is ideal for a leader who has a passion for early childhood education and for making a real and meaningful contribution to their role, community, and families.
What do you get to do?
- Provide supervision, leadership and support to the staff
- Responsible for the daily operations of the daycare
- Developing and implementing child-care programs and curriculum that aligns with Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework and QFCC’s Christian mission, vision and goals.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, generating correspondence, including monthly newsletters to staff and parents
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and regular communication with parents and team members
- A clear understanding of licensing regulations, health and safety regulations and Quiver Full Childcare’s policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Ensuring program delivery consistently and continuously aligns with accreditation standards, licensing requirements.
- Maintaining accurate attendance and child records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Responsible for coordinating staff training
- Ensure child and staff records are always up to date, as per Quiver Full Childcare Centre policy and Legislation
- Guiding and assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, promoting their independence and self-care skills.
- Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and communicating progress or concerns with parents, guardians, and other staff members.
- Adhering to health and safety legislation, guidelines, protocols, and procedures established by Quiver Full childcare and relevant regulatory authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of staff, children, their families and other guests.
- Promoting and modelling positive behavior and conflict resolution strategies to create a culture of safety, respect, and emotional well-being among children and staff.
What you bring to the role?
- Post Secondary Education in Early Learning Childcare, Education (Alberta Teaching Certificate), Child & Youth, Social Work; or a combination of relevant education and experience is required
- Level 3 ECE Alberta Childcare Staff Certification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in preschool or childcare with preschoolers.
- Valid First Aid Certification and infant CPR
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback where necessary.
- Excellent time management and prioritization abilities to ensure efficient program planning and implementation.
- Strong professional boundaries and commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ability to lift 23 kgs
- A Food Safety Course is an asset.
All successful candidates must have a clear security clearance with vulnerable sector completed and a Child intervention check is required.
